The Crazy Man Reading Response is due Thursday, Oct. 25. RR1 requires a writing assignment and a visual. See my Resources tab for the format.

Next Monday and Tuesday, you will present your visual to the class. Answer these questions:

•Explain your visual for your reading response:

–What parts took the longest?

–What’s your favourite part of the art piece?

– 30 seconds maximum 

Similes are due: Tuesday, October 16

Your 3 paragraphs are due Tuesday. Double check that you have: edited your writing, had 2 proof readers and used your graphic organizer.
By using your graphic organizer, you will not have forgotten any reasons or important information.

Simile Painting and Writing Assignment

This week we will be finishing our watercolour paintings of our animal similes. Remember to paint an interesting background and write your simile below your painting.

We will begin the writing assignment to explain your simile. Use the graphic organizer to explain your thoughts in detail.

Novel Study

We've begun the class read aloud novel study of Pamela Porter's The Crazy Man. It is set in 1965, small town Saskatchewan. The story challenges our perceptions of mental illness and provides awareness of the social changes brought about by the Civil Rights Movement.
