Reading Response 2

This week we will start Reading Response 2. The requirements are posted under Resource Link. This time the book may be from the book list or not. Next time, the book will have to be from the book list.

Creative Writing is Due Thursday: Part 1 and 2

Part 1: Short Story
Your short stories are due this Thursday. The assignment and the notes on quotation marks and apostrophes are on the Resource Link. Make sure your story is:
-    1-3 pages
-     proof read by 3 people
-     uses quotation marks and apostrophes correctly

Part 2: To represent your short story choose one of the following options to demonstrate your ability to represent ideas through various media:

• Design a book cover for your short story.
• Choose a musical piece that represents your story. Write a paragraph explaining your choice.
• Write a half-page monologue as if you were the protagonist or antagonist, and perform your work.

Conferences

Conferences are next week and you can book this afternoon at 4pm with any teacher. Conferences are only 10 minutes in length and it is best not to book back to back, as there is travel time to each room. It is usually booked up and very busy.

Creative Writing

This week we will begin a creative writing assignment. Students will write a short story of their choice. They will figure out a plot, characters and setting. They will also practice using apostrophes and quotation marks correctly.

Destination Canada

This week we started Destination Canada. We will work on this assignment all of next week. You should have completed at least 1 destination today. If you aren't done, please finish it for homework this weekend. The questions are posted on the Resources link.
Destination Canada is due next Friday, November 9.
